A successful weekend for Canonbury & Igneous

The Autumn League has now drawn to a close, congratulations to Canonbury who defeated every team they met in the league stages and took home the Barfoot Bottle.

Teams then reassembled this weekend for the closing tournament, the Pig Trophy. In Sunday’s subsidiary final Fairhaven came up against Golden Seas and Fairhaven were on a roll… they put themselves firmly into the lead in chukka one and that is where they stayed, eventually running out the winners 16 – 9. In the final, league winners Canonbury took on Igneous in what was quite a close match. Igneous increased their lead in chukka three and, despite some great goals from Canonbury’s Jonathan Willen in the final chukka, the score at the bell was Igneous 12 – Canonbury 9.

Many thanks to everyone for taking part. The Winter League starts soon… stay tuned!
