Black Aces and Avanti took to the arena for the first club tournament of the arena season. Maurice subbing in for younger brother Robin who was off games with a neck injury. First to score was Harold Hodges with a two pointer for his team, closely followed by another, putting them firmly in the lead. Black Aces got going in the second chukka and the score at half time was 8-6 to Avanti. The second half was very close with a goal scoring flurry from both sides, Avanti just keeping hold of the lead by the tips of their fingers. Four goals from Maurice and one goal each from the Watson brothers in the last chukka wasn’t quite enough to steal victory from Avanti and goal scoring machine, Harold, who notched up a further seven to leave the score 19-16 at the final bell.
