The last weekend of the season, and the finals weekend of the Winter League, saw four teams take to the arena to battle it out for the Renshaw Trophy. Data-IS, league and Chatanooga Salver winners, had a resounding victory over Watchman in the first semi final on Saturday. Black Aces just pipped Silverwood to the post in the second game to join Data in Sunday’s final.
The final was played bright and early on Sunday morning and Black Aces were first out of the gates, Data-IS were quick to respond and the score was tied 7 all as teams went into the last chukka. The last chukka went the way of Black Aces who notched up three goals to Data’s 1 and came home the winners 10 – 8.
The subsidiary final between Silverwood and Watchman was a high scoring affair, again teams were closely matched and after three chukkas the score sat at 10 all. Watchman were first to score in the last and went on to have a great chukka with four more goals while Silverwood managed to get a further three between the posts. The score at the final bell Watchman 15, Silverwood 13.
