Three teams entered the Spring League and played a round robin to determine who would be victorious this year. Firstly Xanthos took on Fyfield Flyers, Xanthos were leading throughout and despite Fyfield Flyers starting to look a bit threatening in chukka four they came home the winners 5.5-4. The second match was between Xanthos and Black Aces. This was quite a low scoring and heavily defensive game with the score 2-0 to Xanthos at half time. Black Aces seemed to wake up in the second half notching up three goals and taking victory 3-2. The final match in the league stages was between Fyfield Flyers and Black Aces, a very close match with teams really fighting for the win, Black Aces edging ahead by half a goal to win 4.5-4 and to win the league stages.
The final was played as an 8 chukka match across two days, Flying Aces vs. Xanthos. Flying Aces got off to a strong start on the Saturday with the score 3-1 at half time. A high scoring third chukka for Xanthos brought the score back to 5-3 in their favour and one final goal apiece in the fourth finished Saturday with Xanthos leading 6-4. Teams came out on Sunday for part two and Flying Aces were first to score, Xanthos answered with a couple more goals and the score at half time was 8-6. A very even second half meant it could go either way but Xanthos just edged ahead to win 11-10.
